Research Interests
My research interests, broadly defined, are as follows:
I had the privilege of joining a relationships lab in college, where I worked on a number of projects related to experiences following romantic betrayal. I was interested in personality factors including different styles of loving as well as inhibition and approach orientations. In graduate school, I was introduced to research on the Culture of Honor, and I began my journey to understand its influence on relationships and intimate partner violence (IPV). As I dive deeper into academia, I am continuing to investigate how Culture of Honor value systems influence men's role in perpetuating IPV, the role of family and friends in Cultures of Honor, and how relationships are viewed differently based on Culture of Honor values.
